What is our objective?
Human Rights is at the heart of what we do. We help our members build members' and suppliers' capability to ensure Implementation of the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights (UNGP).
Why is it important?
Responsible businesses cannot ignore the impact of their sourcing strategies on human rights in those countries where they buy their commodities. The UN guidelines are being incorporated into policy frameworks all over the world, and AIM-Progress members want to demonstrate leadership in applying the necessary due diligence to ensure that human rights are respected, that workers are protected and that any grievance is remediated.
What are we doing?
The work stream is focusing on the following deliverables:
AIM-Progress supports the Consumer Goods Forum's resolution on eradicating forced labour and its Priority industry principles. The two organisations collaborate to enable their members to implement the principles and resolutions in their supply chains.
